Three separate slips in this section of road required devegetation and in some places very heavy mechanical scaling to allow for the slope treatment to be installed safely and effectively. Additional areas within the slips were identified as needing more than scaling and meshing and these consisted of numerous overhangs, wedge and block failures too large for the drape mesh to contain without potential damage or failure. Using wagon drills we installed ground anchors from 7-9m in depth and then post tensioned each of them to actively stabilize these features under the drape mesh. Over 12,000m of high tensile rockfall mesh was installed over these three areas.
