Geovert’s Brynderwyn Hills Slope Stabilisation project, delivered in response to damage from Cyclone Gabrielle, has been recognised with two finalist nominations at the Civil Contractors New Zealand (CCNZ) Awards.
The project was first named a finalist at the CCNZ National Awards earlier this year, and has now been shortlisted once again at the upcoming Auckland Branch Awards in November.
A Complex Project in Challenging Conditions
Spanning an 18-month program, the Brynderwyn Hills works involved the delivery of complex slope stabilisation solutions in steep and highly constrained terrain. One of the project’s standout innovations was the use of pneumatic drycrete pump technology for downslope shotcrete application – a method that significantly reduced manual handling for rope access crews while improving both safety and productivity.
Working alongside Fulton Hogan and WSP, Geovert delivered long-term stabilisation measures designed to restore resilience to this critical transport corridor in the wake of Cyclone Gabrielle.

Recognition of Teamwork and Innovation
These dual nominations reflect the commitment, technical expertise, and collaborative approach of everyone involved.
We look forward to celebrating with our industry peers and fellow finalists at the Auckland Branch Awards in November.
