Geovert named finalist for Engineering Success of the Year at 2026 Prospect Mining Awards

Geovert has been named a finalist for Engineering Success of the Year at the 2026 Australian Mining Prospect Awards, recognising the High Reach Drill (HRD).

The HRD was developed in-house to solve a problem conventional drill rigs and rope access methods could not: stabilising highwalls and slopes that are too high or too hazardous to access by standard means. Where wagon drills remain effective on sites with safe benches and frequent relocation, the HRD works from the toe or berm to stabilise tall faces without the need for additional benching, reducing earthworks and limiting disruption in constrained corridors.

From concept to testing to deployment across mining and infrastructure projects, the technology has delivered ground support operations at heights from 15 metres to over 30 metres, supported by safety systems that eliminate manual handling and minimise crew exposure to hazardous areas. Its extended reach allows multiple drilling horizons to be serviced from a single setup, improving efficiency while reducing time spent working directly under the face. The fleet has now been deployed across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, with each generation reflecting continued investment in R&D.

The HRD sits within Geovert's broader programme of in-house engineering development. What began as an engineering challenge has become a proven solution for major mining operations and infrastructure projects globally.
