Results
Improved ground conditions and foundation stability beneath crusher pockets.
Deceleration loads from heavy mining trucks safely supported.
Controlled grouting methodology ensured quality and performance.
Long-term durability and reduced maintenance risks for ore processing operations.
Project
Solution
Installation and grouting of TAM pipes to facilitate staged injection.
Use of Bimbar packers to inflate at designated TAM windows for secondary grouting.
Secondary grout pumped up to 30 bar to fracture primary grout, then reduced and controlled to ~6 bar.
Monitoring and recording grout quantities with stroke meters attached to high-pressure pumps.
Project
Challenges
Requirement to strengthen ground beneath crusher pockets carrying 500t dump trucks.
Need for precise grout placement in fractured soils and rock.
High-pressure injection required careful monitoring to prevent excessive grout loss or ground disturbance.

Project
Overview
Ground improvement works were undertaken at Sino Iron Ore using high-pressure injection grouting with tube-à-manchettes (TAMs) to support the foundations of crusher pockets subject to heavy deceleration loading from 500t dump trucks.
Controlled injection techniques ensured consistent improvement of fractured ground conditions, providing long-term stability for critical ore processing infrastructure.
