Project

Solution

  • Engineered and mobilised a bespoke drill rig capable of precise anchor installation at required depths and angles

  • Designed and constructed a purpose-built test beam to carry out anchor verification safely on fragile ground

  • Combined drilling, anchor installation, and rope access techniques to deliver works in the confined space

Project

Challenges

  • Tight timeframe restricted to a scheduled shutdown window

  • Limited access to anchor locations required an unconventional bottom-up installation approach

  • Fragile dump pocket wall prevented the use of traditional anchor testing methods

anchor installation for mine dump pocket

Project

Overview

At the Mesa-J iron ore mine in the Pilbara, reinforcement of the dump pocket wall was required to enable safe access for larger haul trucks with increased carrying capacity. Geovert was contracted to install and test T40 self-drilling anchors in challenging conditions with limited access. The works demanded a bespoke drilling solution and custom-designed testing equipment to achieve compliance and verification within the shutdown period.
