The winning photograph

We’re delighted to share that Geovert Project Manager Adel Namehi has been awarded the Queensland Resilient Australia Photography Award for his stunning drone image of Geovert’s night works in the Cairns region. The photograph was taken as part of disaster recovery infrastructure efforts following severe weather, capturing both the scale of the works and the dedication of those involved.

Adel attended the awards presentation evening in Brisbane, returning with a trophy, certificate, and well-earned recognition for his creative eye. The winning image highlights the power of photography to tell the story of resilience - showcasing the people, projects, and communities working together to recover and rebuild.

It’s an honour to be recognised alongside so many other winners and finalists, all of whom are contributing in different ways to strengthening Queensland’s ability to prepare for and respond to natural hazards.

You can view the full list of winners and finalists on the Queensland Reconstruction Authority website.

With this state win, Adel’s photograph will now go forward to the National Resilient Australia Awards later this year.

Congratulations again to Adel on this achievement, and thank you to the Queensland Reconstruction Authority for celebrating the efforts of those rising to the challenge of resilience.
