Recently, teams from our corporate headquarters to project sites across our global operations came together for a mental health awareness. Through dedicated toolbox talks, informative presentations, and open conversations, we've taken valuable time to deepen our understanding of mental health and recognise its crucial importance in both our personal lives and workplace.

A Time of Connection and Learning

Our mental health awareness activities have brought the entire Geovert family together -from site supervisors leading toolbox talks to management presentations at head office, every level of our organisation has participated in conversations that matter. These sessions have provided our teams with practical tools, resources, and most importantly, the knowledge that support is always available.

The response from our workforce has been overwhelmingly positive, with many team members expressing appreciation for the company's commitment to their wellbeing beyond just physical safety. This initiative reinforces that at Geovert, we care about the whole person - not just their professional contributions.

Recognising Important Days

The timing of our mental health awareness activities was particularly significant, coinciding with both R U OK? Day and World Suicide Prevention Day. These important observances served as powerful reminders that simple actions - checking in with a colleague, starting a conversation, or simply letting someone know support is available - can truly make a life-changing difference.

Building a Supportive Culture

Mining and construction industries can present unique challenges and stresses, making it even more crucial that we foster an environment where team members feel comfortable seeking support when they need it.

Our commitment to mental health awareness isn't limited to special events - it's an ongoing priority that's woven into our company culture. We're proud to work in an industry where looking out for your mates is second nature, and we're committed to extending that care to include mental and emotional wellbeing.

Moving Forward Together

As we continue our focus on mental health awareness, the conversations don't stop here. We encourage all our team members to continue checking in with each other, to remember that it's okay to not be okay, and that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

If you or someone you know needs support, remember that help is always available through our Employee Assistance Program, your local GP, or organisations like Lifeline and Beyond Blue.
