Results

  • Rockfall hazards mitigated across development-facing slopes

  • Provided long-term safety assurance for planned residential and commercial buildings

  • Project delivered on schedule despite terrain challenges

  • Enabled progression of development works with reduced geotechnical risk

Project

Solution

  • Carried out extensive rope access scaling to remove unstable material

  • Installed high-tensile rockfall mesh systems anchored into bedrock

  • Constructed rockfall barriers to intercept debris before it reached the site

  • Coordinated works to align with the developer’s construction program

Project

Challenges

  • Steep slopes with limited or no conventional access

  • Large volumes of loose rock requiring scaling prior to protection works

  • Sensitive site adjoining a high-profile urban development

Project

Overview

The Lakeview precinct in Queenstown required extensive geotechnical works to manage rockfall hazards above a new development site. Geovert was engaged to implement protective systems that would ensure the safety of future residents and infrastructure. The steep alpine setting demanded technical rope access solutions for safe and effective delivery.
