Results

  • Completed the installation safely and ahead of schedule despite adverse conditions

  • Delivered a fully engineered and rated DROPS system with minimal structural impact

  • Provided long-term protection against dropped-object risks with validated reliability

Project

Solution

  • Designed and installed a large-scale lightweight nylon netting system anchored to the façade

  • Engineered anchoring solution, including magnetic drilling through 200mm box sections

  • Applied exterior waterproofing and flashing to ensure long-term integrity of the system

  • Third-party engineering analysis and rating to verify compliance and safety performance

Project

Challenges

  • Installation restricted to a shutdown period, with a narrow winter maintenance window

  • Proximity to blast doors and high-pressure steam piping required precise planning

  • Adverse weather conditions throughout winter increased complexity and safety considerations

Dropped object prevention system installed using façade-mounted netting NZ

Project

Overview

At Fonterra’s Clandeboye site in Canterbury, poly façade panels presented a significant dropped-object risk to both personnel and equipment. Geovert was engaged to design and implement a tailored DROPS (Dropped Object Prevention Scheme) solution to mitigate the hazard. The work required careful planning to suit the existing building infrastructure, while managing operational constraints and adverse winter weather.
