Results
Works completed on schedule, restoring stability to the cutting with no delays to operations.
The design-build model minimised track downtime while addressing safety-critical risks.
Program milestones achieved despite COVID-related constraints.
Zero injuries and full compliance with operational safety standards
Project
Solution
A temporary catch fence enabled safe working above the line while trains remained operational.
Radio-controlled high reach drills accessed anchor rows from the crest, supported by wagon drills.
Resources were scaled up during possessions to maximise production output.
Shift programming was optimised to achieve targets within strict shutdown windows
Project
Challenges
Slope stabilisation above live rail infrastructure required non-disruptive solutions.
Bottom bolt rows had to be installed at track level during two short possessions.
A 36-hour shutdown demanded continuous drilling and grouting operations.
COVID-19 restrictions complicated worker movements and resource planning.

Project
Overview
Geovert delivered design-build slope stabilisation for a rail cutting embankment on the Goonyella mainline, 20km south of Sarina, Queensland. The works provided an engineered solution to address stability concerns while maintaining operational continuity on one of Aurizon’s most critical coal export rail corridors. The project required staged delivery above live rail lines, with additional works timed to coincide with limited possession periods
