Geovert were required to prepare a design solution to achieve a 100-year design life in a coastal and bushfire-prone environment and reduce the likelihood of superficial failures by regenerating the slope vegetation on a project with great public interest. In order to achieve the 100-year design life, we incorporated the use of Glass Fibre Reinforced Plastic (GFRP) soil nails and dimensioned Geobrugg high-tensile stainless steel rockfall netting in conjunction with erosion control matting. The slopes successfully regenerated vegetation in a short period of time and with no assistance from hydro-seeding. We also reconstructed the public pathway across the site by building a concrete pathway on micropiles and a small timber bridge to cross the landslide escarpment left in the hillside.
