Geovert carried out geotechnical investigation drilling followed by the installation of ground anchors for load testing to destruction to aid VicRoads in their global stability analysis and in the final design to stabilize the active slip zone. Scaling and devegetation was required to trim the face for the mesh installation and improve safety during construction. Soil nails were installed with glass fibre reinforced plastic (GFRP) bars and dimensioned high tensile TECCO G65 stainless steel mesh in conjunction with erosion control matting formed the slope stabilisation system. The slope successfully regenerated vegetation in a short period of time and with no assistance from hydroseeding.
