After sustained periods of heavy rain, significant slips occurred on the slope immediately above the road blocking traffic into and out of the local settlement. DEW worked to reopen the road by clearing the debris and Geovert were contracted to install 4000m+ of 150m long drainage bores to relieve any pore water pressure under the slip.

Long term stabilisation works were then completed consisting of benching the slope to enable the duplex cased drilling and installation of 46No. 55m long UTS 4750kN double corrosion protected anchors with a 100 year design life. Manufacturing, installation with destructive, creep & acceptance testing were completed to BS8081 requirements.
