Debris Flow Barriers

Geovert can provide mitigation by use of flexible barriers for debris flow protection and avalanche protection/prevention with tested barrier systems emplaced in the start zones. Variables in the conditions that affect the debris flow can include slope geometry and available loose sediment after heavy rainfall with velocities ranging from a few meters per second to nearly 20 meters per second.

Varying greatly in size, debris flows are extremely destructive to people, assets and infrastructure. At Geovert we have experience in constructing some of the largest flexible barrier structures in the world. Common applications include installations above townships & villages, mine sites; road & rail networks which are susceptible to the natural hazards caused debris flow events in steep terrain after heavy rainfalls.
